Integer overflow in Apple QuickTime before 7.5.5 on Windows allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (application crash) via a crafted PICT image, which triggers heap corruption.
The bug was discovered 09/09/2008. The weakness was presented 09/10/2008 by TippingPoint with Apple as HT3027 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at support.apple.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2008-3614 since 08/12/2008. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
