CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Apache Traffic Server. It has been declared as very critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the component Redirect Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a stack-based overflow vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-121. A stack-based buffer overflow condition is a condition where the buffer being overwritten is allocated on the stack (i.e., is a local variable or, rarely, a parameter to a function). As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

Apache Traffic Server copies the client Host header into a fixed-size stack buffer without a bound during redirect handling, so an over-long Host header overflows the stack when redirect following is enabled. This issue affects Apache Traffic Server: from 8.0.0 through 8.1.9, from 9.0.0 through 9.2.14, from 10.0.0 through 10.1.3. Users are recommended to upgrade to version 9.2.15 or 10.1.4, which fix the issue.

The advisory is available at lists.apache.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-33930 since 03/24/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 08/07/2026).

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 333156 (Fedora 44 : trafficserver (2026-5bec7441bb)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.

Upgrading to version 9.2.15 or 10.1.4 eliminates this vulnerability.

The vulnerability is also documented in the databases at Tenable (333156), EUVD (EUVD-2026-50171) and CERT Bund (WID-SEC-2026-2561). If you want to get best quality of vulnerability data, you may have to visit VulDB.
