The bug was discovered 10/14/2008. The weakness was disclosed 10/14/2008 by Wushi with Microsoft as MS08-057 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is available at microsoft.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2008-3471 since 08/04/2008. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
