Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in themeruby Easy Post Submission Plugin up to 2.3.0 and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function create_post of the component Submission Handler. The manipulation of the argument postId with an unknown input leads to a improper authorization vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-285. The product does not perform or incorrectly performs an authorization check when an actor attempts to access a resource or perform an action. Impacted is integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

The Easy Post Submission plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to unauthorized modification of data due to a missing capability check on the `create_post()` function in all versions up to, and including, 2.3.0. This is due to the `rbsm_submit_post` AJAX action being registered for unauthenticated users via `wp_ajax_nopriv_rbsm_submit_post` without any authorization checks when a `postId` parameter is supplied. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to modify the title, content, excerpt, categories, and tags of arbitrary posts, as well as change the post status to draft (effectively unpublishing them) via the 'postId' parameter.

The advisory is shared for download at wordfence.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-4431 since 03/19/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The current price for an exploit might be approx.
