CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in keywordrush Content Egg Plugin up to 11.3.0. It has been rated as critical. This issue affects the function getFullImgPath. The manipulation of the argument img_file with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

The Content Egg – Affiliate Product Importer & Price Comparison plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Arbitrary File Deletion via Path Traversal in versions up to and including 11.3.0. This is due to insufficient validation of the 'img_file' field within the cegg_data post metadata: the value passes only through wp_strip_all_tags() (which does not strip path traversal sequences), is stored directly in post meta, and is later concatenated without normalization into a filesystem path in getFullImgPath() before being passed to PHP's unlink(). This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with author-level access and above, to delete arbitrary files on the affected site's server which may make remote code execution possible.

The advisory is shared at wordfence.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-15979 since 07/16/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 08/05/2026). MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1006 for this issue.

There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
