IBM Langflow OSS up to 1.10.3 validate_model_provider_key OLLAMA_BASE_URL server-side request forgery

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in IBM Langflow OSS up to 1.10.3. This issue affects the function validate_model_provider_key. The manipulation of the argument OLLAMA_BASE_URL with an unknown input leads to a server-side request forgery vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-918. The web server receives a URL or similar request from an upstream component and retrieves the contents of this URL, but it does not sufficiently ensure that the request is being sent to the expected destination. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

IBM Langflow OSS 1.0.0 through 1.10.3, and 1.0.0 through 1.10.3 contains a Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the validate_model_provider_key() function for the Ollama provider. The function accepts a user-supplied OLLAMA_BASE_URL parameter and passes it directly to requests.get() without validation, scheme/host allowlisting, or filtering of private IP ranges (loopback, RFC1918, link-local addresses).
