A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Mambo Site Server up to 3.42 (Content Management System). This issue affects the function sign. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-79. The product does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes user-controllable input before it is placed in output that is used as a web page that is served to other users. Impacted is integrity. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in the AkoBook 3.42 and earlier component (com_akobook) for Mambo allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via Javascript events in the (1) gbmail and (2) gbpage parameters in the sign function.
The weakness was published 09/04/2007 by Ruben Ventura Pina (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at vupen.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-4745 since 09/06/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
