CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Summaryinfo

A vulnerability categorized as problematic has been discovered in Linux Kernel up to 7.2-rc2. Affected is the function tsi148_probe/tsi148_remove of the file drivers/staging/vme/vme_user.c of the component tsi148 bridge. Executing a manipulation of the argument lm_resources can lead to allocation of resources. This vulnerability is registered as CVE-2026-68084. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. No exploit is available.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 7.2-rc2. It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function tsi148_probe/tsi148_remove of the file drivers/staging/vme/vme_user.c of the component tsi148 bridge. The manipulation of the argument lm_resources with an unknown input leads to a allocation of resources vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-770. The product allocates a reusable resource or group of resources on behalf of an actor without imposing any restrictions on the size or number of resources that can be allocated, in violation of the intended security policy for that actor. As an impact it is known to affect availability. CVE summarizes:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: staging: vme_user: fix location monitor leak in tsi148 bridge tsi148_probe() allocates a location monitor resource and links it into tsi148_bridge->lm_resources. The probe error path frees this list, but tsi148_remove() only frees the dma, slave and master resource lists, so the location monitor resource is leaked on device unbind or module unload. Free the lm_resources list in tsi148_remove() as well, before tsi148_bridge is freed.

The advisory is available at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-68084 since 07/30/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. The exploitation requires an enhanced level of successful authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1499 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

Upgrading to version 6.1.178, 6.6.145, 6.12.96, 6.18.39, 7.1.4 or 7.2-rc3 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 18be0ad31b161a8b6fbc90d14355ad40c061b6b0/eef048dd77ebfbf99d7c28f9e9dd331d2af7b6f6/36902ab588ccc2fa07994adf6c5f51cbfe379177/e3ceafa6d8ee6b3a0f7fabe7a551fda909edbd46/c6cda17e98545980e42291fc4282daa8a8ebe384/151edde741f8bc7f2931c5f44ab376d32b0c8beb is able to eliminate this problem.
