CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Executing a manipulation of the argument accept_list can lead to use after free. This vulnerability is tracked as CVE-2026-68393. The attack can be launched remotely. No exploit exists.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability classified as very critical was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.18.41/7.1.5/7.2-rc3. This vulnerability affects the function hci_lookup_le_connect of the component hci_sync. The manipulation of the argument accept_list with an unknown input leads to a use after free vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-416. Referencing memory after it has been freed can cause a program to crash, use unexpected values, or execute code. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: hci_sync: extend conn_hash lookup critical sections Using RCU-protected pointers outside the critical sections without refcount is incorrect and may result to UAF. Extend critical section to cover both hci_conn_hash lookup and use of the returned conn. Add surrounding rcu_read_lock() also when return value is not used, in preparation for RCU lockdep requirement to hci_lookup_le_connect(). This avoids concurrent deletion of the conn before we are done dereferencing it. Also, make sure to hold hdev->lock when accessing hdev->accept_list.

The advisory is available at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-68393 since 07/30/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 08/10/2026).

Upgrading to version 6.18.42, 7.1.6 or 7.2-rc4 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 83b7e67698d0b93f685875ce82c8d335436834f7/38326774df6198df0cc2744cc73bf77cb741c538/d5efd6e4b8b0634af6843178fe1a7dd2b2178a3d is able to eliminate this problem.
