Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, was found in Dokploy up to 0.29.12. Affected is the function child_process.exec of the file packages/server/src/utils/volume-backups/backup.ts of the component Volume Backup. The manipulation of the argument volumeName with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Dokploy is a free, self-hostable Platform as a Service (PaaS). Prior to 0.29.13, Dokploy allows an authenticated low-privilege member to execute arbitrary commands on the control-plane host because the volumeName field accepted by volumeBackup.create and volumeBackup.runManually is interpolated without quoting in packages/server/src/utils/volume-backups/backup.ts and executed through child_process.exec, with Docker socket access making execution host/root-equivalent. This issue is fixed in version 0.29.13.
