Details
A vulnerability was found in Red Hat AI Inference Server and OpenShift AI (affected version unknown). It has been classified as very critical. Affected is an unknown functionality of the component Argo Workflow. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a behavioral workflow vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-841. The product supports a session in which more than one behavior must be performed by an actor, but it does not properly ensure that the actor performs the behaviors in the required sequence. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
A flaw was found in Data Science Pipelines (DSP). An attacker with namespace editor privileges can bypass security hardening by submitting a malicious Argo Workflow through the V1 API path. This allows the API server to create pods with elevated privileges, acting as a 'confused deputy' on behalf of the attacker. Successful exploitation grants the attacker node-root access, enabling arbitrary code execution and full control over the underlying node.
