Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in usmannasir CyberPanel up to 2.x. Affected is the function open of the file cloudManager.py of the component cloudAPI ReadReport endpoint. The manipulation of the argument reportFile with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
CyberPanel before 3.0.0 contains a path traversal vulnerability that allows authenticated administrators to read arbitrary files from the server filesystem by supplying unsanitized file paths to the cloudAPI ReadReport endpoint. Attackers can manipulate the reportFile parameter in the JSON request body, which is passed directly to open() in cloudManager.py without validation or allowlisting, enabling traversal to any file readable by the root-privileged CyberPanel process including credential files, SSL and SSH private keys, and JWT secret files.
The advisory is available at cyberpanel.net. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-67613 since 07/29/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. Additional levels of successful authentication are needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1006 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
