Details
A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in Budibase up to 3.39.17. Affected is some unknown processing of the file packages/server/src/integrations/mysql.ts of the component MySQL Integration. The manipulation of the argument tableName with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Budibase is an open-source low-code platform. Prior to 3.39.18, packages/server/src/integrations/mysql.ts enabled multipleStatements and inserted an unescaped tableName into a DESCRIBE statement. An attacker able to create a MySQL table with a backtick and stacked statement in its name could wait for a Budibase administrator to run schema discovery, causing the second statement to execute. The fix applies quoteMySqlIdentifier before constructing the query. This issue is fixed in version 3.39.18.
