Details
A vulnerability classified as very critical has been found in Haiwell IoT Cloud HMI Gateway up to 3.40.1.12. Affected is the function cmdPing of the file /setting of the component Net Check. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a os command injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-78. The product constructs all or part of an OS command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended OS command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
A critical OS command injection vulnerability has been identified in the Haiwell IoT Cloud HMI Gateway product. The vulnerability exists in the Net Check feature accessible via the /setting endpoint. The cmdPing Socket.io event fails to properly sanitize user-supplied input before passing it to the underlying operating system, allowing an attacker to inject and execute arbitrary OS commands with root privileges.
