Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, has been found in Linux Kernel up to 6.1.177/6.6.144/6.12.96/6.18.39/7.1.4. This issue affects the function __power_supply_populate_supplied_from of the component Power Supply Core. The manipulation of the argument supplied_from with an unknown input leads to a allocation of resources vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-770. The product allocates a reusable resource or group of resources on behalf of an actor without imposing any restrictions on the size or number of resources that can be allocated, in violation of the intended security policy for that actor. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: power: supply: core: fix supplied_from allocations If dts property power-supplies has multiple values, then accessing to psy->supplied_from[i-1] in __power_supply_populate_supplied_from will overrun supplied_from array.
