Details
A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.6.150/6.12.102/6.18.43/7.1.7/7.2-rc5 and classified as very critical. Affected by this issue is the function iso_sock_disconn of the component Bluetooth ISO. The manipulation of the argument iso_data with an unknown input leads to a use after free vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-416. Referencing memory after it has been freed can cause a program to crash, use unexpected values, or execute code. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: ISO: clear iso_data always when detaching conn from hcon When setting conn->hcon = NULL, also conn->hcon->iso_data = NULL is necessary, otherwise later iso_conn_free() will UAF. Fix clearing of iso_data in iso_sock_disconn() Fixes KASAN: slab-use-after-free in iso_conn_hold_unless_zero on iso_sock_release() followed by hci_abort_conn_sync().
The advisory is available at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-74541 since 08/15/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 08/17/2026).
