Details
A vulnerability was found in Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management for Kubernetes (version unknown). It has been declared as problematic. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown function of the component submariner-operator. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a redirect vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-601. A web application accepts a user-controlled input that specifies a link to an external site, and uses that link in a Redirect. This simplifies phishing attacks. As an impact it is known to affect integrity. The summary by CVE is:
A flaw was found in the submariner-operator component. The `submariner-k8s-broker-cluster` Role, which is assigned to joined clusters, possesses excessive permissions. This allows a compromised cluster to alter network configurations, specifically by overwriting other clusters' endpoint information. Consequently, an attacker can redirect inter-cluster tunnel traffic, enabling a Man-in-the-Middle (MITM) attack across the entire cluster mesh.
