The manipulation of the argument admin/adminlog.php?page=1 with an unknown input leads to a access control vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-264. CMS Made Simple 1.1.3.1 does not check the permissions assigned to users in some situations, which allows remote authenticated users to perform some administrative actions, as demonstrated by (1) adding a user via a direct request to admin/adduser.php and (2) reading the admin log via an "admin/adminlog.php?page=1" request.
The weakness was released 10/10/2007 as not defined posting (Bugtraq). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-5441 since 10/14/2007. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
