CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Splunk Enterprise up to 9.4.13/10.0.8/10.2.5/10.4.1. It has been rated as critical. This issue affects some unknown processing of the component Job Details dashboard. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a privileges management vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-269. The product does not properly assign, modify, track, or check privileges for an actor, creating an unintended sphere of control for that actor. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

In Splunk Enterprise versions below 10.4.2, 10.2.6, 10.0.9, and 9.4.14, a user who does not hold the "admin" or "power" Splunk roles could bypass Search Processing Language (SPL) safeguards for risky commands through the Job Details dashboard. The injected SPL could run using the permissions of an authenticated user who opens a crafted Job Details dashboard link. This could allow access to all relevant data and affect system integrity within those permissions. The vulnerability is possible because the Job Details dashboard does not correctly neutralize a caller-supplied search identifier before placing it into SPL searches. The vulnerability requires the attacker to phish the user by tricking them into opening the crafted link. The user who does not hold the "admin" or "power" Splunk roles should not be able to exploit the vulnerability at will. For more information see About jobs and job management (https://help.splunk.com/en/splunk-enterprise/search/search-manual/10.4/manage-jobs/about-jobs-and-job-management) in the Splunk documentation.

The advisory is shared at advisory.splunk.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-76323 since 08/19/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1068 for this issue.

Upgrading to version 9.4.14, 10.0.9, 10.2.6 or 10.4.2 eliminates this vulnerability.
