A vulnerability was found in phpMyAdmin 2.11.1.1 (Database Administration Software). It has been declared as problematic. Muliple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in phpMyAdmin before 2.11.1.2 allow remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via certain input available in (1) PHP_SELF in (a) server_status.php, and (b) grab_globals.lib.php, (c) display_change_password.lib.php, and (d) common.lib.php in libraries/; and certain input available in PHP_SELF and (2) PATH_INFO in libraries/common.inc.php. NOTE: there might also be other vectors related to (3) REQUEST_URI.
The bug was discovered 10/17/2007. The weakness was presented 10/17/2007 by Omer Singer (DiGiT) with Digitrust Group (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2007-5589 since 10/19/2007. The attack can be launched remotely. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
