It has been classified as very critical. Affected is the function jsonstatus of the component Json Status Handler. The manipulation of the argument usescript/usefile/option with an unknown input leads to a command injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-77. The product constructs all or part of a command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended command when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Multiple DrayTek VigorSwitch models contain a command injection vulnerability in the jsonstatus function. The vulnerability is caused by insufficient filtering of the usescript, usefile, and option fields before command execution. A remote attacker can trigger this vulnerability via crafted input to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges. Exploitation requires valid administrative credentials for the device's web management interface.
