A vulnerability classified as critical was found in EDraw Flowchart ActiveX 2.3. This vulnerability affects the function HttpDownloadFile of the file edimage.ocx of the component ActiveX Control. The manipulation of the argument second with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Absolute path traversal vulnerability in the EDraw Flowchart ActiveX control in EDImage.ocx 2.0.2005.1104 allows remote attackers to create or overwrite arbitrary files with arbitrary contents via a full pathname in the second argument to the HttpDownloadFile method, a different product than CVE-2007-4420.
