Details
A vulnerability was found in Bendix EC80ESP+ J1708, EC80ESP+ 6S, 6M, EC80ESP+ PLC, EC80ESP+ 2nd CAN, EC80ESP+ Integrated TPMS, EC80ESP 6S, EC80ESP PLC, EC80ESP 2nd CAN, EC80ESP CAN Gateway, EC80ESP 4S and 4M. It has been declared as very critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a stack-based overflow vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-121. A stack-based buffer overflow condition is a condition where the buffer being overwritten is allocated on the stack (i.e., is a local variable or, rarely, a parameter to a function). As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Bendix EC80 Brake ECU is vulnerable to a stack-based buffer overflow, which may allow an attacker to crash the ECU. A crafted payload can then be used to remotely execute arbitrary code or inject arbitrary CAN bus traffic. This could cause the loss of the ABS function, steering assist, speedometer, and shifting.
The advisory is available at cisa.gov. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-67560 since 08/10/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 08/28/2026).
