CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 7.1.7 and classified as very critical. Affected by this issue is the function ip_vs_bind_dest of the component ipvs. The manipulation of the argument flags with an unknown input leads to a use after free vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-416. Referencing memory after it has been freed can cause a program to crash, use unexpected values, or execute code. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ipvs: do not propagate one-packet flag to synced conns Synced connections can be created before their destination exists. When the destination is later added, ip_vs_bind_dest() copies connection flags from the destination into cp->flags. IP_VS_CONN_F_ONE_PACKET connections are not synced. If a synced connection inherits IP_VS_CONN_F_ONE_PACKET while it is already hashed, expiry can treat it as a one-packet connection and skip unlinking the existing conn_tab node, leaving stale hash nodes pointing at a freed struct ip_vs_conn. Drop IP_VS_CONN_F_ONE_PACKET from destination flags when binding synced connections.

The advisory is shared for download at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-80714 since 08/26/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. USD $5k-$25k (estimation calculated on 08/28/2026).

Upgrading to version 5.10.265, 5.15.216, 6.1.183, 6.6.151, 6.12.103, 6.18.44 or 7.1.8 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 06d1d9b56ef8132fbf85006885eb43d9510b8b02/acbdc276091b308ca7794acb86e761f8203e2f59/300348e3ba1521b003d59825f97e24f9a6859688/44af98cc7d5ef8e730488d5df1eecd5deeaa5947/4649e6faeecdc2d44bfa6ccbe405eef27e55d816/b5ee5b266f833601ac4817f6df0bc496fc376a28/e7acfc990c29890c883d0d0ce3f737d003a43b44/a63d2dbaeb50a85d4c976b15a36e6b0c7113db5b is able to eliminate this problem.
