A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in phpMyAdmin 2.11.2 (Database Administration Software). This issue affects an unknown function of the file db_create.php. Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in db_create.php in phpMyAdmin before 2.11.2.1 allows remote authenticated users with CREATE DATABASE privileges to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via a hex-encoded IMG element in the db parameter in a POST request, a different vulnerability than CVE-2006-6942.
The bug was discovered 11/09/2007. The weakness was presented 11/14/2007 by Omer Singer (DiGiT) with Digitrust Group (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at phpmyadmin.net. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2007-5977 since 11/14/2007. The attack may be initiated remotely. The successful exploitation requires a simple authentication.
