Details
A vulnerability classified as critical was found in TangibleWP MyHome Core Plugin up to 4.4.5. Affected by this vulnerability is the function send_link/activate of the component AJAX Handler/Token Validation. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a improper authorization vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-285. The product does not perform or incorrectly performs an authorization check when an actor attempts to access a resource or perform an action. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
The MyHome Core plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Authentication Bypass in all versions up to, and including, 4.4.5. This is due to missing authorization in the send_link() AJAX handler and improper token validation in the activate() function. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to generate an activation token for an unconfirmed user account and obtain a valid authentication cookie for that account, including administrators. Successful exploitation requires the MyHome theme to be configured in legacy/WPBakery mode with frontend registration and confirmation email enabled, and the target account must not already have the myhome_agent_confirmed user meta set.
The advisory is shared at wordfence.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-15980 since 07/16/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely.
