Details
A vulnerability was found in lukeseager Persistent Login Plugin up to 3.1.0. It has been declared as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is an unknown function of the component Login History. The manipulation of the argument wppl_device_id with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
The Persistent Login plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to generic SQL Injection via 'wppl_device_id' Cookie in all versions up to, and including, 3.1.0 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with subscriber-level access and above, to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database. This vulnerability is only exploitable when the plugin's Login History feature is enabled.
