A vulnerability was found in Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 (Web Browser). It has been classified as critical. Affected is the function setCapture. Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 for Windows XP SP2 and SP3; 7 for Server 2003 SP2; 7 for Vista Gold, SP1, and SP2; and 7 for Server 2008 SP2 does not properly handle objects in memory, which allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code by calling the setCapture method on a collection of crafted objects, aka "Uninitialized Memory Corruption Vulnerability."
The weakness was shared 06/09/2009 by Peter Vreugdenhil (Wushi) with ZDI as MS09-019 as confirmed bulletin (Technet). The advisory is shared for download at microsoft.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2009-1529 since 05/05/2009. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available.
