GFI Exinda AI up to 7.6.4 Iperf Client web_tools_cmd server/options argument injection

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in GFI Exinda AI up to 7.6.4. Affected by this issue is the function web_tools_cmd of the component Iperf Client. The manipulation of the argument server/options with an unknown input leads to a argument injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-88. The product constructs a string for a command to be executed by a separate component in another control sphere, but it does not properly delimit the intended arguments, options, or switches within that command string. Impacted is confidentiality. CVE summarizes:

GFI Exinda AI before 7.6.5 contains an argument injection vulnerability in the Tools Iperf Client functionality. The web_tools_cmd() function constructs an iperf command using the server and options parameters without sanitization, permitting injection of arbitrary iperf flags. An authenticated attacker with Unprivileged (lowest-level) access can supply the iperf -F flag to read an arbitrary file from the system and transmit its contents to an attacker-controlled server.

The advisory is shared for download at gfi.ai. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-74237 since 08/14/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.

Upgrading to version 7.6.5 eliminates this vulnerability.
