A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Microsoft Windows (Operating System) (version now known). This issue affects some unknown processing of the component Print Spooler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. Stack-based buffer overflow in the EnumeratePrintShares function in Windows Print Spooler Service (win32spl.dll) in Microsoft Windows 2000 SP4 allows remote printer servers to execute arbitrary code via a a crafted ShareName in a response to an RPC request, related to "printing data structures," aka "Buffer Overflow in Print Spooler Vulnerability."
