Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Wesnoth up to 0.9.3. Affected is an unknown function. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
Directory traversal vulnerability in the WML engine preprocessor for Wesnoth 1.2.x before 1.2.8, and 1.3.x before 1.3.12, allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files via ".." sequences in unknown vectors.
