Details
A vulnerability was found in Red Hat AMQ Broker, Enterprise Application Platform, Camel for Spring Boot and Camel for Quarkus (the affected version unknown) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is the function ObjectMessage.getObject of the component Deserialization Configuration. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a deserialization vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-502. The product deserializes untrusted data without sufficiently verifying that the resulting data will be valid. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
EAP's Artemis deserialization configuration permits deserialization by default. ObjectMessage.getObject() uses ObjectInputStreamWithClassLoader, which implements allow-list/block-list filtering via its checkSecurity()/isTrustedType() method. However, by default both allow-list and block-list are empty. When the allow-list is empty (size == 0), isTrustedType() returns true for ALL classes. This means all classes are deserializable by default.
The advisory is available at access.redhat.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2026-86404 since 09/07/2026. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 09/07/2026).
There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
