Details
A vulnerability has been found in BadBlue 2.72b and classified as critical. Affected by this vulnerability is some unknown functionality in the library upload.dll. The manipulation of the argument filename with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
Directory traversal vulnerability in upload.dll in BadBlue 2.72b and earlier allows remote attackers to create or overwrite arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the filename parameter.
