A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, was found in Flat PHP Board 1.2 (Forum Software). Affected is an unknown code block of the file index.php of the component User Account. The manipulation of the argument username with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Multiple directory traversal vulnerabilities in index.php in Flat PHP Board 1.2 and earlier allow remote attackers to (1) create arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the username parameter when registering a user account, and (2) read arbitrary PHP files via a .. (dot dot) in (a) the topic parameter in a topic action or (b) the username parameter in a viewprofile action.
