CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in ST Engineering iDirect Evolution iQ-Series terminals, 3315-Series terminals and 9-Series Terminals up to 4.5.2.1 and classified as problematic. This issue affects an unknown code block of the component Web Administration. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a weak password hash vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-916. The product generates a hash for a password, but it uses a scheme that does not provide a sufficient level of computational effort that would make password cracking attacks infeasible or expensive. Impacted is confidentiality. The summary by CVE is:

The endpoint on the iDirect iQ200 VSAT terminal returns the complete device configuration as JSON, including the SECURITY section which contains MD5-crypt password hashes for the root SSH and web administration accounts. Any user with valid web credentials can extract these hashes and crack them offline using commodity hardware.

The advisory is shared at support.idirect.net. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2026-38058 since 04/06/2026. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be initiated remotely. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1552 for this issue.
