CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability has been found in Linux Kernel up to 6.12.108/6.18.49/7.2.3 and classified as very critical. This vulnerability affects the function handle_in/handle_out of the file arch/x86/coco/tdx/tdx.c of the component TDX. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a off-by-one vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-193. A product calculates or uses an incorrect maximum or minimum value that is 1 more, or 1 less, than the correct value. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: x86/tdx: Fix off-by-one in port I/O handling handle_in() and handle_out() in arch/x86/coco/tdx/tdx.c use: u64 mask = GENMASK(BITS_PER_BYTE * size, 0); GENMASK(h, l) includes bit h. For size=1 (INB), this produces GENMASK(8, 0) = 0x1FF (9 bits) instead of GENMASK(7, 0) = 0xFF (8 bits). The mask is one bit too wide for all I/O sizes. Fix the mask calculation.

The advisory is available at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2026-89751 since 09/11/2026. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $5k-$25k at the moment (estimation calculated on 09/11/2026).

Upgrading to version 6.12.109, 6.18.50, 7.2.4 or 7.3-rc1 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch 222b7005e4519f633b4cd666226256abbab46a1a/c4a22154870813d10aa0b4c734a574c726f9d4b0/bb45f705c4440dd3c689328319b88dd28770bbb8/0f63e656b1c679d32ac595de29d10c03efca6a25 is able to eliminate this problem. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
