A vulnerability was found in George Lewe TeamCal Pro up to 3.1 (Calendar Software) and classified as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown code block of the file index.php of the component Login. The manipulation of the argument lang with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Multiple directory traversal vulnerabilities in TeamCal Pro 3.1.000 and earlier allow remote attackers to include and execute arbitrary local files via a .. (dot dot) in the lang parameter to (1) index.php, (2) register.php, (3) login.php, or (4) statistics.php.
The weakness was disclosed 12/25/2007 by GoLd_M (Website). The advisory is available at milw0rm.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2007-6554 since 12/27/2007. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1006 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
