Details
A vulnerability classified as very critical was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.12.108/6.18.49/7.2.3. This vulnerability affects the function scsi_alloc_sgtables of the component Core. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a uninitialized variable vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-457. The code uses a variable that has not been initialized, leading to unpredictable or unintended results. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

These bytes remain uninitialized, which leads to a problem. Extend last_sg->length by pad_len first, then use sg_zero_buffer() to zero those pad_len bytes. sg_zero_buffer() uses sg_miter internally, which correctly handles sg entries spanning multiple pages and padding that crosses a page boundary.
