Details
A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, was found in Arista EOS up to 4.36.1F. This affects an unknown code of the component AclAgent. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a race condition vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-362. The product contains a code sequence that can run concurrently with other code, and the code sequence requires temporary, exclusive access to a shared resource, but a timing window exists in which the shared resource can be modified by another code sequence that is operating concurrently. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
A race condition during supplicant re-authentication may leave a stale ACL entry that persists in the system. If the AclAgent subsequently restarts, this stale entry may be applied to new supplicants, resulting in incorrect access control enforcement. User interaction (an AclAgent restart by an administrator) is required for the unintended behavior to take effect.
The advisory is shared at arista.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2026-75944 since 08/18/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. Additional levels of successful authentication are needed for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
