TIBCO SmartSockets RTserver 6.8.0 and earlier, RTworks before 4.0.4, and Enterprise Message Service (EMS) 4.0.0 through 4.4.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via crafted requests containing values that are used as pointers.
The weakness was disclosed 01/15/2008 by Sean Larsson (McSlibin) with VeriSign iDefense Labs (Website). The advisory is shared at vupen.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2007-5655 since 10/23/2007. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
