Linux Kernel up to 7.2.5 DSI dsi_manager.c dev_pm_opp_set_rate exceptional condition

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Linux Kernel up to 7.2.5 and classified as critical. This issue affects the function dev_pm_opp_set_rate of the file drivers/gpu/drm/msm/dsi/dsi_manager.c of the component DSI. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a exceptional condition vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-755. The product does not handle or incorrectly handles an exceptional condition. Impacted is availability. The summary by CVE is:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: drm/msm/dsi: Drop dev_pm_opp_set_rate(0) dev_pm_opp_set_rate(0) removes the vote specified in required-opps but does not actually park the clock, making it run without the necessary power backing. Drop the explicit call to it. Every call site of ops->link_clk_disable() is followed by pm_runtime_put(), so the power vote will be rescinded if deemed safe.
