A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in WordPress WassUp plugin up to 1.4.3 (Content Management System). This issue affects some unknown processing of the file main.php. The manipulation of the argument to_date with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. Multiple SQL injection vulnerabilities in main.php in the WassUp plugin 1.4 through 1.4.3 for WordPress allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the (1) from_date or (2) to_date parameter to spy.php.
The weakness was released 01/31/2008 (Website). The advisory is shared at wpwp.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2008-0520 since 01/31/2008. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known.
