JGraph draw.io up to 30.2.6 Export Service ExportProxyServlet.java request.getPathInfo path traversal

CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Summaryinfo

A vulnerability identified as critical has been detected in JGraph draw.io up to 30.2.6. Affected is the function request.getPathInfo of the file src/main/java/com/mxgraph/online/ExportProxyServlet.java of the component Export Service. Performing a manipulation results in path traversal. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2026-63416. Remote exploitation of the attack is possible. No exploit is available. You should upgrade the affected component.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in JGraph draw.io up to 30.2.6. It has been classified as critical. This affects the function request.getPathInfo of the file src/main/java/com/mxgraph/online/ExportProxyServlet.java of the component Export Service. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:

draw.io is a configurable diagramming and whiteboarding application. Prior to version 30.2.7, src/main/java/com/mxgraph/online/ExportProxyServlet.java uses request.getPathInfo() to build a proxyPath and appends it directly to EXPORT_URL without rejecting dot segments or confirming that the normalized destination remains under the configured export path. An unauthenticated request containing traversal segments can therefore address unintended routes on the internal export server, and the servlet forwards all request headers and the request body to that destination, allowing arbitrary header injection. Depending on the export service configuration, exploitation can expose administration, debugging, health, or configuration endpoints and can permit unintended internal actions. This issue is fixed in version 30.2.7.

The advisory is shared at github.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2026-63416 since 07/16/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1006 for this issue.

Upgrading to version 30.2.7 eliminates this vulnerability.

The vulnerability is also documented in the vulnerability database at EUVD (EUVD-2026-83988). If you want to get the best quality for vulnerability data then you always have to consider VulDB.
