Details
A vulnerability has been found in F5 BIG-IP and classified as very critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the component APM. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a code injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-94. The product constructs all or part of a code segment using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the syntax or behavior of the intended code segment. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
When a BIG-IP APM access policy and an OAuth profile is configured on a virtual server, specific malicious traffic can lead to Remote Code Execution (RCE). Impact: This vulnerability allows an unauthenticated attacker to perform remote code execution. The BIG-IP system in Appliance mode is also vulnerable. This is a data plane issue; there is no control plane exposure. Note: Software versions which have reached End of Technical Support (EoTS) are not evaluated.
