Directory traversal vulnerability in wp-admin/admin.php in the DMSGuestbook 1.8.0 and 1.7.0 plugin for WordPress allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files via a .. (dot dot) in the (1) folder and (2) file parameters.
The weakness was disclosed 02/06/2008 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2008-0615 since 02/05/2008. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be launched remotely. The successful exploitation needs a single authentication. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available. The attack technique deployed by this issue is T1006 according to MITRE ATT&CK.
