Details
A vulnerability classified as critical was found in travispluse Rename wp-login.php to anything you want Plugin up to 2.0.1. Affected by this vulnerability is the function wp_login_failed of the file wp-login.php of the component Login. The manipulation of the argument log with an unknown input leads to a sql injection vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-89. The product constructs all or part of an SQL command using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended SQL command when it is sent to a downstream component. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
The Rename wp-login.php to anything you want plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to time-based SQL Injection via 'log' (Username) Parameter in all versions up to, and including, 2.0.1 due to insufficient escaping on the user supplied parameter and lack of sufficient preparation on the existing SQL query. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to append additional SQL queries into already existing queries that can be used to extract sensitive information from the database. WordPress core applies wp_unslash() to the 'log' POST value before dispatching the wp_login_failed action, stripping magic-quotes backslash escaping and allowing a raw single quote to reach the plugin's handler unimpeded.
