A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in netpbm 10.26. This issue affects the function readimagedata of the file giftopnm.c. Buffer overflow in the readImageData function in giftopnm.c in netpbm before 10.27 in netpbm before 10.27 allows remote user-assisted attackers to cause a denial of service (crash) and possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted GIF image, a similar issue to CVE-2006-4484.

The bug was discovered 02/05/2008. The weakness was disclosed 02/07/2008 with Mandriva (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at issues.rpath.com.
