Detailsinfo

A vulnerability was found in Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (affected version unknown). It has been classified as problematic. Affected is an unknown functionality of the file /api/v2/ping/ of the component Automation Controller API. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a information disclosure vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-200. The product exposes sensitive information to an actor that is not explicitly authorized to have access to that information. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality. CVE summarizes:

A flaw was found in the automation-controller API. The unauthenticated health-check endpoint /api/v2/ping/ (ApiV2PingView, AllowAny) over-serializes RBAC-gated automation-mesh data into its anonymous response, exposing the full instance inventory (node hostnames, node types, UUIDs, heartbeats, capacities, and exact versions), all instance-group names and membership, the deployment install UUID, and the active control node. A remote, unauthenticated attacker can use this to map the control plane and fingerprint software versions for targeted attacks. This flaw affects confidentiality only; it does not expose secrets, credentials, or tenant data.

The advisory is shared for download at access.redhat.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-84712 since 09/02/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. USD $5k-$25k (estimation calculated on 09/23/2026). The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1592.

There is no information about possible countermeasures known. It may be suggested to replace the affected object with an alternative product.
