Detailsinfo

A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in MasterStudy LMS Plugin up to 3.7.49. Affected is an unknown functionality. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

The MasterStudy LMS WordPress Plugin WordPress plugin before 3.7.50 does not validate one of its display-style settings before using it to build a template path, allowing users with the Contributor role and above to include and execute arbitrary local PHP files on the server. An equivalent path was corrected in an earlier release and this one was not, so the issue persists in versions the earlier advisory reports as fixed.
