CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

Detailsinfo

A vulnerability, which was classified as very critical, was found in Linux Kernel up to 6.12.110/6.18.52. Affected is the function usb_ep1_command_reply_dispatch of the component usb-audio. The manipulation of the argument actual_length with an unknown input leads to a out-of-bounds vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-125. The product reads data past the end, or before the beginning, of the intended buffer. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: ALSA: usb-audio: caiaq: validate EP1 reply lengths usb_ep1_command_reply_dispatch() uses buf[0] as a command byte and then reads command-specific fixed items from the same URB buffer. Several paths use buf + 1, buf[1], buf[2], or buf + 3 without first proving that urb->actual_length contains those bytes. Add per-command length checks, use a payload length derived from the bytes after the command byte for the control-state copy, and reject short analog input payloads before the input helper reads fixed offsets from the EP1 reply.

The advisory is available at git.kernel.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2026-93808 since 09/18/2026. The exploitability is told to be easy. Local access is required to approach this attack. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 09/24/2026).

Upgrading to version 6.12.111 or 6.18.53 eliminates this vulnerability. Applying the patch af8a172c4f71ac30d625f2966d2389a7fa872819/74f3c639f64fa5da4e1613149798b5089bce2807/aba30af07d4fe499b50209801eba9da8a815522f is able to eliminate this problem. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
